  • Students must register for a minimum of 15 credits per semester, including the Portuguese as a Second Language course (required).

  • In addition to the language course, students will enroll in electives courses, in English or Portuguese, taught at CIEE or Pontif√≠cia Universidade Cat√≥lica de Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). 

  • All courses offered by PUC-Rio are available to international students with few exceptions. The PUC Office of International Studies has provided a list of recommended courses for international students, which includes courses in arts, business, economics, geography, history, international relations, modern languages, psychology, social communication, social services, sociology, and theology.

  • Visit the PUC-Rio course catalog for a complete list of courses.

Foreign Language Courses: Portuguese (required)

Housing: Students will be placed with a host family.
